Photography is great for showing things we can achieve in real life,
But drawing skills let us show anything we can dream of.

Software
Adobe Photoshop Illustrator Premier Pro InDesign Skills Illustration Instant drawings on the spot. May require references if difficult subjects to draw. Photography I understand the basic principles behind good photography and have a good grasp of composition through drawing. Layout A new thing for me. As I have more interest in building this skill, I volunteered to work on the layout for the first issue of our newspaper. It was a tough but rewarding decision. Filming Another skill I sharpened recently. Our team (for another subject) didn't have people who wanted to work on filming, so I took the initiative to learn how to do it. Copywriting I can write copy for flyers, social media, ...you name it, I try it. Interviewing Had to have this skill for journalism subjects. It's very challenging to understand people through interviews. I suggest not just doing interviews but spending time together in general if possible. Video Editing I just started video editing recently, but I can handle cleaning up video shots, run simple transitions and reduce shaking in videos. Language English - most proficient Malay - I use Malay up to STPM level Chinese - it's my native language. Basic Japanese - I learnt on my own, but I can handle most generally used kanji and I memorized all hiragana and katakana a few years back. Can follow most conversations by native speakers as long as it's not about specific technology or specialized subjects. Basic French - Took introductory course in university. Know mostly basic vocabulary and grammar. Can grasp basic sentence construction. Learn mostly through immersion by French movies and music. |
