Newspaper Layout
September 2014
It was the first issue of the newspaper, and I had templates from the previous issues, which I had used for a point of reference.
There were no issues with working on inDesign even with the team working at separate locations, however, I changed my mind about working from home, especially when the team isn't very knowledgeable about layouts.
Everyone was able to work at the time allocated and pass up within the day, although I have to say it was a very stressful time for me as I had no experience working on a real real newspaper, and when the paper was out, I can't possibly describe the relief I had when I held it in my hands.
I was finally free of the responsibility to make it presentable- and on a standard I could say was passable within the limits of time given to me.
If given the chance to do it all over again, I'd love to work with a plan in the beginning, instead of a blank. This experience had taught me what I should do before leading a team for layout editing.
Also, I'd buy Adobe inDesign instead of working in school.
